Wimberley 4-H Club

Each month Wimberley 4-H Club has community service opportunities.  Below you will find upcoming community service projects and details.  Don't forget to keep record of your community service for your record book!

September: None

​

October: October's Community Service is a collection for the San Marcos Children's Shelter. The wishlist is linked on our homepage under October's meeting details. Bring items to the October meeting.

November: November's Community Service is a Thanksgiving Dinner for our veterans at the VFW hall.  Each year our club provides a Thanksgiving meal to show our appreciation to our veterans. You can find the sign up sheet here.

December: December's community service is a collection of toys and monetary donations for Barnabas Connection. Toys can be any age/gender and can be brought to our November and December meeting.  Most needed/requested: legos, gifts for teens(gift cards like Academy, Target, Amazon, Apple, etc., art supplies, popular book series, sports items(basketballs, soccer balls, volley balls, footballs (sports items are highly requested), warm/fuzzy blankets (size twin or larger) and little heaters.

January: January's community service is donating 2-12 pk of name brand sodas to the livestock show concessions. Also, helping to set up for the Hays County Livestock Show and to work the concession stand during the show. Link for concession sign up at livestock show

February: February's Community Service is appreciation baskets for our First Responders.  Please bring items to contribute to these basket to our February meeting.  Examples of items: store bought and homemade treats, snacks, sports drinks, etc. We will assemble baskets and then deliver on a TBD date to our Wimberley First Responders!

March: March's Community Service is stuffing Easter Eggs for Deer Creek Nursing Home. This will take place directly after our March meeting. 

 

April: April's Community Service is a collection for the Dell Children's Hospital Family rooms. These room are primarily used for the families of babies in the NICU.   Items can be but are not limited to: snacks, laundry soap, facial tissues, gift cards(gas, grocery, phone, Target, Costco, Amazon), baby wipes, individual mac n cheese, granola bars, juice boxes, disinfecting wipes, individual chip bags, fruit chews, small water bottles, applesauce packs, 

Items for siblings like coloring books, crayons, books and any other items that might make a difficult stay more comfortable.

Residents do have access to a microwave.

May: May's Community Service is our Memorial Day Rodeo.  Signup sheets will be available on signup genius!
